So that was the season that was. I'm going through withdrawals already not having to rush off to a circuit every weekend for a change. Probably the most rewarding thing of the year has been the comraderie and 'spirit' in the paddock. I've made loads of new friends (and more!) and owe a lot to the Locost series for that alone. Anyway, to celebrate we thought we'd all get together and get pis.... errr.. I mean have a sensible, quiet dinner. Needless to say, it didn't work out like that and we all got smashed and had a right laugh! Mike Topp did the honours with the award giving, with further awards being sponsored by Mark Benton and the Saunders family - a very big thank you to you all. We got through something like 14 awards that night of which we won 2 - woohoo!!! :) On top of that, some very generous gifts were donated to the raffle resulting in around 300 quid being raised for Marie Curie Cancer Research. Anyway, they say a picture says a thousand words but the people in them found it hard to string about six together on the night ;) Make sure you're there for 2002 - better book early as it was a HUGE success.
Thank you and goodnight ;) More news shortly when build MK2 begins!
Sunday 25th November
Well, today was another milestone in my Locost racing career, that's right folks....
Basically a chap on the Locost egroup had advertised a bunch of bits for sale and being weak willed, I decided to buy the lot! My brother has been itching to have a go at building one so it'll give him a chance to have a go. Who knows, he may even end up racing it!! (Heaven help us!!). So armed with my dad's pickup, we trolled off to Oxford (conveniently only about 20 mins from the workshop) and within 2 loads we'd acquired the following:
So there you go. Not satisfied with burning huge amounts of wonga on the first one, I've decided to do it all again! Mad? Well, probably, but I've got you, my adoring fans, to keep amused haven't I!!! ;) Wish me luck. We'll get cracking next weekend.
